Currently, the Islamic Relief Pakistan – NGO Karachi is searching for candidate for their vacant position i.e.  Community Mobilizer to join their team

Job Description

  • Large-scale community meetings (BBCM) and workshops for stakeholders at the community the community
  • Conduct needs assessments, baseline surveys, and data analysis within designated project areas.
  • It identifies and prioritizes the villages that are the most vulnerable and marginalized with the help of PRA tools.
  • Initial contact and introduction to this project within the community of your choice
  • The group is strengthening, reviving, and creating villages and community development committees and organizations by ensuring they’re open to all segments of society long-term.
  • Responsible for negotiating the terms of partnerships (TOP) in conjunction with committees (Color Vos and LSO).
  • We are identifying and prioritizing the top urgent needs of communities through PRA techniques (issues prioritization).
  • Meet regularly with community groups to increase awareness of their rights, i.e., social, economic, and other rights.
  • It enhances community capacity by developing new concepts for CMST, CMST LMST/refreshers/exposure visits, Advocacy campaign planning, campaigns, etc.
  • This campaign aims at motivating the communities to make monthly contributions to savings plans.
  • Assist other sectoral leaders at the site to identify needs, prioritization, and project action verification.
  • In close collaboration with stakeholder groups that are involved in project-related areas.
  • The organization of community info sessions, i.e. (health as well as hygiene) and arranging various Workshops and training sessions and Campaigns or special events for members of local community organizations (social forestry, community participation in development, and women’s involvement in development)
  • Monitor and keep track of project actions and immediately make reports using the most efficient solutions.
  • Facilitate the organization of organizations /donor excursions for project areas.
  • Conduct CO/VO/ LSO profiling, i.e., collecting basic level data to evaluate the state in communities and collecting surveys conducted across the program or project region.
  • Perform an exhaustive community mobilization with important advocacy goals

PERSON Specification

The person appointed to the post must be aware of the goals, values, mission, and vision and be committed to its SEAH (sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment) policies. We adhere to a zero-tolerance approach to SEAH and will not be a part of any activity that encourages or supports SEAH.

Qualification:

Intermediate or higher, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Science

Experience:

Minimum of three years experience in a similar to that NGO environment:

Computer skills:

MS Office, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity

Language:

Urdu, Sindhi, and English
